General Motors is taking a page from Apple's Genius Bar tech-support program as its Cadillac brand rolls out a new infotainment system. GM is requiring Cadillac dealers to designate two employees as certified CUE specialists--one in sales, the other in service--as experts to walk customers through the system known as the Cadillac User Experience, or CUE. GM also plans to hire 25 service representatives that it will scatter across its largest markets to field questions from both dealers and customers.
Mercedes partner with Europcar for courtesy cars
Providing courtesy cars for customers is something of a pain for car makers. Customers expect a courtesy car when they come in for repair or service or after an accident, and that’s not easy to manage. So car makers partner with car hire firms to make the whole thing work and, usually, know they can put a customer in a courtesy car whenever it’s needed.

Mazda will use the August 2008 Moscow motor show to unveil its new crossover concept, the Kazamai. Japanese for ‘swirling crosswinds’, the Kazamai is Mazda’s latest concept car to showcase the company’s Nagare design language. But alongside the wind-inspired looks, the four-wheel drive Kazamai is also said to showcase Mazda’s ‘sustainable zoom-zoom’ strategy, with the company’s latest-generation engine and transmission.
